Subplots to a City - Ten Years of In Certain Places book

I am delighted to be included in In Certain Places' new book, 'Subplots to a City: Ten Years of In Certain Places.  The book features imagery and writing on my 2012 project '#followingthemarketsquare' with In Certain Places, that observed how people used the Preston Market Square, resulting in drawings, a blog, a short residency at Harris Museum and Art Gallery and an animation, titled 'Observation of Desire Lines'.

'Subplots to a City' explores phow In Certain Places has developed new approaches to art, culture and urban development since its inception in 2003. Alongside images, project outlines and reflections from artists, audience members and collaborators, the book includes texts by specialists from various fields, including Owen HatherleyLubaina HimidSophie HopePaul O’NeillJonathan VickeryBecky Shaw and John Newling as well as Charles Quick and Elaine Speight. As a case study this book provides a useful resource for those interested in place-based art, while also contributing to the critical discourse surrounding such practices.
