#Knitterfeed @FutureEverything Conference, 19th May 2012

'Yarn bombed tree' outside Cross Acres Community Group, Wythenshawe

On Saturday 19th May 2012 at the Handmade event at FutureEverything Conference, I will be involved in #Knitterfeed, which is a collaborative project between myself, artist Elizabeth Wewiora, digital programmer Tom Kinniburgh and the Cross Acres Knitting Group (Wythenshawe).

In the run up and during the event, we will be exploring twitter through hand knitting objects and forms that communicate this sprawling network, with a very skilled group of knitters that regularly make out of the ordinary statements through their craft.

Call out for unwanted knitting yarn!

We are looking for donations of unwanted knitting yarn (and needles) that you no longer require or want.  If you do have anything you can very kindly offer, please let me know and I can arrange to collect from you. Thank you very much!

Video Jam 2 at Antwerp Mansion, 22nd April 2012, 7pm til late

My animation 'If you're lost, remember what you saw on the way', has been selected as one of the short films to be accompanied by sound devised by a musician, at the next Video Jam event at Antwerp Mansions, Manchester on the 22nd April 2012, from 7pm onwards.
Video Jam is an experimental night of short films, each accompanied by a different live musical performance. After a successful first night back in January, to which hundreds of people unexpectedly turned up, we thought it silly not to organise another one.

The programme includes a really eclectic mix of silent films submitted by both amateur and professional filmmakers, artists and animators. Each of these have been paired with a musician/sound artist with the intention of providing an original soundtrack. What results is a 'blind collaboration' of sorts, the filmmaker and musician remaining anonymous to one another throughout the process.

Join us in celebrating the qualities of live music and improvisation for this unique encounter between sound and vision!

**Doors open 7pm for 8pm start. After show party to follow - late. **

£2 on the door to cover costs - this is a not-for-profit event!
